I am sure you are all aware that Cancer can affect 1 in 3 people. Imagine how many people we all know that have had or are currently suffering this terrible disease, although the number of sufferers is high, Cancer Research is working extremely hard for cures and the number of Cancer patients that die are dropping considerably.  With all the research needed their slogan of "we can beat it together" inspires thousands of people to organise and take part in the strangest and funniest things to raise some extra cash for the cause. 

Bearing that in mind, five years ago  I decided to organise a fund raising event with a difference.  So on the last weekend in June I hold a charity fund raising event that includes a motorbike ride out, live bands, stalls and silly games for adults, things like blind wheelbarrow racing , tug of war, etc. 

 

 Some people may have their own idea of a 'Biker' probably due to old movies, my experiance from the June event and others is that everyone is great fun and genuinely kind hearted.  Unfortunately in 2009 my mother sadly passed away but was always very proud of her cake stand at the event, and the fact that the Bikers and non bikers adored her (and her cakes) always made her smile and feel special (as she was).

The brilliant ingredients for the June Event I believe, is down to the people who attend and make it happen, from everyone who gives their time free of charge, to all those who come along to raise money for the charity.  Families and non bikers are all welcome, everyone meets new friends and just has fun!! after all that's what the weekend is for.

There is a camping area, bouncy castles for adults / children.  Everyone gets up to boogie with the bands  even the children love dancing to the bands in the day. If dancing's not your bag and   you just want to sit and relax and watch everyone else, that's fine too.

You'll see people laughing and genuinly having a great time throughout the weekend !
